The Pipeline Women’s Pro, longest running wave event for women, is coming up soon! It is in a “holding period” from March 12th to March 22nd, as they await the best three days to hold the contest. More and more women are being drawn to surfing and this prestigious event promises to bring some of the finest to compete! Held at the Ehukai Beach Park, across from Sunset Beach Elementary School, on Kamehameha Hwy just north of Haleiwa, the Pipeline is a renowned surf spot with breath-taking waves in the winter! The Pipe Pro Jr event will be held in conjunction with the Women’s Pro, for the second year in a row. Contest Director Betty Depolito, working with co-director Liam McNamara, says that they are “working to be sure Hawaii’s youth have events here at the Pipe!”. Both young women and men will have competition meets. However, conditions must be right for these events to take place. You can call 808-596-7873 to check for updates, so you’ll be sure not to miss out on the awesome action!
