One annual festival that focuses on the unique aspects of chili peppers in Hawaii will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 8am-12noon at the Pearlridge Farmers Market. University of Hawaii Master Gardeners and CTAHR (College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resource) will be on site throughout the morning sharing tips and tricks for growing healthy and productive Hawaiian chili pepper plants.
The festival is celebrating its second year with a sizzle. Bring the entire family and see and buy a wide assortment of produce, prepared foods, plants, flowers and locally made products from island growers and vendors. The primary goal is to educate the public on one of our island residents’ favorite fiery foods, the chili pepper.
The Chile Pepper Festival and Chili Cook-off is located in the lower parking lot by Sear’s. It is free and open to the public with complimentary parking available at Pearlridge Center. Located at the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Pali Momi Street
